Japan Day 2

Previously on Japan Day 1, I ended off my blog saying that I'll be changing planes to Hokkaido. I reached Nagoya airport at approximately 8.30am (Japan time) *I'd be using Japan Time for the Japan Trip Blogpost so incase if there are timings, note that they are in Japan Time*

By the time I reach Chitose airport (in Hokkaido) it is already about 2pm. So here goesss, the beginning of my actual trip/tour in Japan!!

The first location that we went to is the Shiraoi Ainu Museum. 

Right at the entrance, there is this mega statue of idk what (I'm sorry.)

While we're there, we watched a performance which describes how the people live there back in the days. We were exposed to their traditional way of life.
The performance was held in this little hut like thing.

The emcee(?) is telling us how girls of the past spend 7 to 8 years tattooing the area around their mouth, for the sake of beauty. Since the technology isn't that advanced in the past, they had to tattoo manually, piercing needles and inserting ink into their skin. Ouch. Thank god it's illegal now.

next we got to watch how birds(?) play with each other, with the 4 ladies at the back singing and making bird noises which sounds very super realistic.

After the short dancing and singing, this lady started playing this very small instruments which made all sorts of sounds that you won't even expect would come out from that small wooden piece.

Following after, we got to see how the mothers got their child to sleep in the past by singing and walking the child on her back.

Next we are then blessed by the peaceful music played by their wonderful traditional musical instrument.

Then, they performed a sort of 'Ritual' to send the fishes or I can't remember what, so that they can rest in peace.

After the performances were over, we went outside to take a few photos.

Soon we left the Shiraoi Ainu Museum and headed to Hell Valley.

We had to stay there for the night so here is our Hotel Room!


This was our dinner and we had to sit on the floor. It was so difficult trying to sit properly on the floor! It was almost impossible to stay in one position for that long with your legs constantly cramping. ouch.


After dinner we went out for a little walk. It is not even 7pm and the sky is already so dark!! It literally seems as though it is 10pm already.


Wonder why this place is called the "Hell Valley"?
Well it's because of this volcano that is nearby. The water from the volcano is used for the Hot Springs, with the presence of Sulfur Dioxide, it leaves your skin nice and soft.
But hell, you do not know how much it stinks there. The pungent smell of sulfur dioxide literally smells like someone had a bad tummy ache and has poo-ed everywhere. Gross.

Since the "Hell Valley" is famous for its volcano and hot spring, of course I had to go try out the hot spring!

This is me and my mom in the Kimono. (Its fake. Its just a bath robe that the hotel provide. Heard from the tour guide that the real kimono costs about a million yen)

The hot spring requires us to go in naked (of course the males and females were separated) but hell I was AWKWARDDDDD. But after getting used to it, it was fine. Actually no one really gives a shit about you there. haha

After about 30mins of soaking in the hot spring, I got a shower and changed into my Rilakkuma Onesie cause why not.


After that, we just went to the lobby to grab some food and chill there since there is wifi available there (hehe can't live without wifi). Then soon we went to bedd.

Sorry for the late post and not being able to keep my word about blogging daily because every time when i reach the hotel, I'm way to tired to go collate my pictures and post them. Therefore I'm really really sorry :(
